Miniature Circuit Breaker

An MCB or resettable fuse circuit breaker. The circuit breaker trips in two ways to protect electrical wiring from overloads. A magnetic coil which mechanically trips the circuit breaker during a high current fault, and a bi-metallic thermal overload which trips during a longer sustained but less significant overload. The matrix of metal bars on the right are a spark arrester, which uses the magnetic field from the coil to drag the spark away from the main contact seen at the bottom (hook shaped element currently in the open position)
